When Christmas time hits, I like to be ALL about Christmas. Christmas decorations, Christmas Desserts, Christmas Shows and Movies, and Christmas Bedtime Stories. Seriously, I just want all the Christmas all the time.
In the spirit of this, I’m going to share with you my absolute favorite kids Christmas book I’ve ever found…bonus for all the military brats out there, it’s got a military theme.
The Night Santa Got Lost: How NORAD Saved Christmas is pretty much Twas The Night Before Christmas, Military Edition. It tells the story of how Santa got lost one Christmas Eve in a particularly bad snow storm, throwing off his entire Christmas schedule. Luckily, with the help of the United States Armed Forces, he’s found and manages to deliver every last present before sunrise Christmas morning.
Twas the Night Before Christmas has always been one of my favorite stories, but this one takes the cake for me. It’s adorable, it’s funny, and it incorporates one of my other favorite Christmas Eve traditions, tracking Santa on NORAD radar.
I always enjoy reading this book to my son, and he always gets a kick out of seeing the military equipment, like C-17s, that he recognizes.
