Let’s face it. Christmas Time (no matter how far ahead I plan and prepare) is always the most expensive season for us. Gifts, decorations, traveling, events, etc. It adds up…REALLY quickly.
Luckily, over the last couple of years, I’ve noticed that my absolute favorite decorations are the ones that I’ve found for super cheap. I’m talking all of them under $10.00… most of them being under $5.00.
So here’s my (hopefully inspirational) Round Up of my favorite decorations for Christmas 2016:
Christmas Crate- $3
Found this adorable crate in the Target Dollar Spot for three bucks! I decided to fill it with some extra ornaments, and it’s currently sitting on the counter between my kitchen and living room.
Free Christmas Printable!- Free
I keep this picture frame in the same place all year and swap out the picture in it according to the current season or holiday. This Christmas, I found this free printable here: 16 Free Pottery Barn Knock Off Christmas Printables . This was only one of MANY great ones, and I loved the idea of this article.
A Way to Display Christmas Cards- $3
This year, I wanted a cute way to display Christmas cards that would keep them safe and out of the way. I found these decorative clothes pins in the Target Dollar Spot for $1 a pack. I believe there were four or five pins on each pack, and I bought three. Using these, a stretch of twine I already had in the house, and to clear push pins, I fashioned this super easy, super affordable way to display Christmas cards in my front entry way. (Also pictured, an note from St. Nick himself that was left by my sons shoes on St. Nicholas Day!)
Happy Holidays Wooden Sign- $1
I found this sign two Christmases ago in the Target Dollar Spot. It’s adorable, It’s pretty durable, and it looks super cute next to the coffee maker and bottle of Jack (ha!).
So hopefully this serves as inspiration that you CAN decorate your home like a magazine if you do a lot of lurking around Target and the Dollar Store, and be super stingy.
